Position
Responsibilities:
Perform Analysis and cost studies to support rate negotiations.
Monitor programs which support logistics costs reductions and studies.
Monthly reporting of operational and financial metrics.
Perform budget analysis.
Assist in the preparation of month-end / year-end journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, and communication of variances to Finance as appropriate.
Variance Analysis for monthly service, quality, and spend
Produce reports and maintain files on DC audits.
Take ownership and proactively investigate DC and Transportation issues.
Ability to gather and assist in defining reporting requirements for key business users.
Ability to engage and work with Aeropostale vendors on compliance and transportation issues.
MS Excel is used heavily to analyze and manipulate data
Position Requirements:
BS degree required
1-2 years Logistics experience
Be proficient in MS Excel (intermediate and advanced). Heavy use of Excel formulas.
VLOOKUP, IF/Then Statements, Macros, etc.
Working knowledge of Access
Strong abilities in problem solving, including identifying and prioritizing issues
Strong aptitude for learning and adding value to the operation
Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
Strong analytical and follow-up skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Ability to work across various business functions including Finance, Accounting and Logistics
